Doha, Qatar: EnergyX, a South Korea-founded building energy technology company, has secured strategic backing from leading Qatari institutions, including Rasmal Ventures and Qatar Development Bank (QDB), to support its global expansion and acquisition-led growth strategy.

The investment marks a significant milestone for the company as it accelerates the deployment of its vertically integrated deep-technology platform, combining artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and energy optimisation systems across the built environment. While the total value of the backing has not been disclosed, Rasmal Ventures described the transaction as one of the largest of its kind in the MENA region.

The deal reflects continued investor confidence in Qatar’s positioning as a regional hub for advanced technology, sustainability, and industrial innovation, even amid broader geopolitical uncertainty across parts of the Middle East.

Qatar positioned as global hub for EnergyX operations

The funding aligns with a recently announced partnership between Invest Qatar and EnergyX to establish the company’s global command centre and international headquarters in Qatar. The move is expected to anchor the company’s long-term growth strategy in the region, while supporting the development of advanced capabilities in AI-powered energy intelligence and smart manufacturing.

The initiative is also projected to generate more than 100 high-skilled jobs across research and development, engineering, and commercial functions, contributing to Qatar’s broader knowledge-based economic diversification objectives.

Proceeds from the investment will be directed towards a growth-by-acquisition strategy targeting opportunities across the GCC and Europe. EnergyX aims to expand its engineering and manufacturing capabilities, accelerate project deployment timelines, and scale its proprietary computational intelligence and geospatial AI technologies.

These systems are designed to model, optimise, and continuously validate building energy performance from early-stage design through to long-term operational phases, supporting improved efficiency and sustainability outcomes across a range of asset classes.

Integrated platform driving energy performance

EnergyX operates what it describes as the industry’s first fully integrated platform for building energy outcomes. The platform combines proprietary technologies across artificial intelligence, building materials, envelope systems, fabrication processes, and lifecycle management into a unified execution framework.

This integrated approach enables reduced operational energy consumption while increasing on-site energy generation, without compromising architectural design or building performance standards.

“We were deeply impressed by the quality of EnergyX’s management team, their engineering depth, and their ability to scale their offering,” said Alexander Wiedmer, Director and Partner at Rasmal Ventures. “This is exactly the type of globally ambitious company we look to back — one addressing an inherently massive market with a differentiated, defensible technology platform. We are delighted to support EnergyX’s international growth strategy and believe Qatar provides an exceptional platform from which the company can scale regionally and globally. This milestone also underscores the vital role of Invest Qatar and QDB, whose commitment to enabling the local venture capital ecosystem has been instrumental in supporting such transformative deals.”

“This backing allows us to advance an acquisition-led growth strategy where energy outcomes are modeled, physically realised, and sustained at industrial grade,” said Sean Park, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EnergyX.

Global footprint and proven performance

EnergyX currently operates across more than 20,000 buildings globally, with over 2,000 projects delivered using its integrated technology stack. The company holds more than 300 intellectual property assets and serves a diverse range of sectors, including data centres, residential developments, high-rise commercial towers, and industrial facilities.

One of its flagship projects, the EnergyX DY-Building, achieved 129.6% energy self-sufficiency over a one-year period, based on 2025 certification data from the Korea Energy Agency. The performance, calculated on a net annual basis including grid exports, highlights the scalability of the company’s model for broader implementation.

Growing regional demand for advanced building systems

The investment comes as demand for advanced building technologies continues to rise across the GCC, driven by government-led sustainability targets, retrofit programmes, and stricter performance standards for new developments.

EnergyX’s expansion strategy aligns with these trends, positioning the company to support both public and private sector stakeholders in delivering more efficient, resilient, and future-ready built environments.
