EDGE Launches European Headquarters in Paris with New EDGE Europe Entity

PARIS, FRANCE – Abu Dhabi-based advanced technology and defence group EDGE has expanded its international footprint with the launch of EDGE Europe, a new European commercial entity headquartered in Paris.

The French-registered company marks a significant step in EDGE's long-term European growth strategy and is designed to support the development of sovereign defence capabilities through accelerated innovation, industrial collaboration and technology-led development.

According to WAM, EDGE Europe will serve as a platform for deeper engagement with governments, industry partners, research institutions and technology companies across the continent, while supporting the delivery of advanced defence and security solutions.

The new operation will be anchored by two strategic locations in France. A headquarters in Paris' Chaillot district will focus on government engagement, investment and partnership development, while a second facility in Bordeaux will serve as an engineering and manufacturing hub responsible for design, integration and rapid system development.

Bordeaux was selected due to its established aerospace and defence ecosystem, extensive industrial supply chain and access to engineering talent through leading universities and research institutions.

The launch comes as European governments continue to prioritise defence resilience, industrial capability and technological independence. EDGE said its European operation will focus on collaborative development rather than direct competition, working alongside established defence contractors, emerging technology firms, universities and research centres.

The company brings expertise across a broad range of sectors, including autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, propulsion technologies, electronic warfare, communications, sensors and air, land and naval platforms. By integrating these capabilities under a single organisation, EDGE aims to deliver multi-domain solutions that address increasingly complex defence requirements.

EDGE Europe also plans to invest in local talent development and create highly skilled engineering and industrial positions while strengthening regional supply chains and supporting sovereign manufacturing capabilities.

The expansion builds on EDGE's growing European presence, which already includes strategic investments and partnerships across several countries. These include stakes in Estonia-based Milrem Robotics, Switzerland's Anavia and Poland's Flaris, alongside the planned acquisition of Italy's CMD. The group has also established joint ventures with Fincantieri and Indra Sistemas and strategic partnerships with Leonardo and Safran.

Through these investments and partnerships, EDGE Europe is expected to provide immediate access to a broad industrial network spanning autonomous systems, propulsion technologies and advanced aerospace and naval capabilities, reinforcing its position within the European defence ecosystem.
