Workforce accommodation shown by Azizi Developments as it announced new communities in Dubai and Sharjah for more than 31,000 people. (Image source: Azizi Developments)Dubai, UAE - Azizi Developments has started work on master-planned workforce communities across Dubai and Sharjah, designed to house more than 31,000 personnel on full completion.
Each residential cluster will include primary healthcare, dedicated vocational training centres, indoor wellness facilities and dining infrastructure. The developer said the programme is backed by its worker welfare and ESG agenda.
The largest site is a master community for more than 20,000 residents in Al Sajaa, Sharjah. It will have 36 residential buildings, supported by four decentralised neighbourhood hubs, five medical clinics, a pharmacy and a central supermarket.
The Al Sajaa site also includes an 18,945 sq ft Training and Community Centre that can host more than 400 personnel for technical and safety programmes. The site plan adds landscaped open-air courtyards and segregated transit infrastructure with bays for 155 buses. Azizi’s corporate transport fleet runs more than 500 passenger buses.
Farhad Azizi, Group CEO of Azizi Group, said: “The frontline teams and skilled workforce on our construction sites are the foundation of everything we build. Ensuring their welfare means creating living spaces where they feel supported, respected, and healthy.”
“By integrating on-site medical care, professional upskilling academies, and recreational amenities into our master plans, we are establishing a progressive living benchmark for the region’s workforce,” he added.
The Al Sajaa master plan sits next to more than 1 million sq ft of Azizi’s own production facilities. These include operational factories for aluminium, joinery, modular ductwork, marble, bathroom pods and GRC, with plants for precast concrete to follow.
Placing the accommodation alongside Azizi’s industrial hubs cuts hours of cross-emirate transit. According to the company, that reduces travel fatigue, improves on-site safety and strengthens supply-chain efficiency across its regional construction pipeline.
In Dubai, Azizi is developing purpose-built accommodation centres in the Jebel Ali Industrial 1 zone. Spanning more than 137,000 sq m, they will house more than 9,700 workers combined.
Both facilities will offer commercial catered meals alongside dedicated self-cooking kitchens, as well as indoor gymnasiums, medical clinics and recreational lounges.
Enabling and shoring works are already under way in Jebel Ali. Site preparation at Al Sajaa will begin later this month, ahead of a phased delivery running through late 2027.

New agreements rose 10.5% to 515,300, while renewals climbed 4.3% to 521,600.

The 2.5m sq ft logistics facility is planned for Dubai Industrial City.

The $26m plant will add Oman’s first 42m cable manufacturing tower.
