Sharjah, UAE - Arada has expanded Australian tier-one contractor Roberts Co into the UAE as part of a wider strategy to strengthen its in-house construction and project delivery capabilities.
Roberts Co has established a UAE operation with a dedicated head office team and will initially work across Arada developments in Sharjah and Dubai. The contractor will provide both construction and preconstruction expertise as the developer expands its regional project pipeline.
Its first construction project in the UAE will be Phase 2 of the Arada Central Business District at Aljada, the developer’s $9.5 billion (AED 35 billion) mixed-use destination in Sharjah.
The company is also carrying out preconstruction work on a number of other Arada projects in Dubai and Sharjah ahead of mobilisation on site.
Arada acquired Roberts Co in 2025 following its expansion into Australia. The contractor has experience across healthcare, education, commercial, residential, hospitality, industrial, life sciences and defence projects.
Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, said: "the move would allow construction expertise to be brought into the development process at an earlier stage, helping improve efficiency, manage costs and raise delivery standards."
He also said: "Roberts Co would complement Arada’s existing contractor relationships rather than replace them."
George Kostas, CEO of Roberts Co, said: "the contractor has already established its core UAE team and confirmed its first project as it prepares to support Arada’s development programme in the region."
The expansion forms part of Arada Industries, the group’s vertical integration strategy covering construction, cranes, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, and smart technology.
Arada said: "the approach gives the company greater control over construction quality, programme and costs across its portfolio."
The developer currently has approximately $46.6 billion (AED 171 billion) of projects under development across the UAE, United Kingdom and Australia and has delivered more than 17,500 homes to date.
