Alef Group has launched 'Threads of Connection', a public art initiative at Al Mamsha inviting artists from the UAE and the wider region to showcase their work. Image: WAMSHARJAH, UAE - Alef Group, a leading real estate developer in the emirate of Sharjah, has launched 'Threads of Connection', a new public art initiative designed to inspire dialogue, celebrate creativity, and strengthen community connections through public art.
According to WAM, the initiative includes an open call inviting artists from the UAE and the wider region to submit original works for a curated exhibition at Al Mamsha, Sharjah's premier lifestyle destination.
As Sharjah's first fully walkable community, Al Mamsha continues to expand its cultural offering by introducing experiences that enrich community life. Through 'Threads of Connection', artists will have the opportunity to present their creativity to residents and visitors, further reinforcing Al Mamsha's position as a destination where art, people and places come together.
Open to both emerging and established artists, the initiative welcomes original works across a range of visual art disciplines, including sculpture and installation. The theme encourages participants to explore the relationships that connect people, cultures, communities and experiences, contributing through creative interpretation to a collective narrative that reflects the diversity and vibrancy of contemporary cultural expression.
Commenting on the initiative, Alef Group said:
"At Alef, we believe that great destinations are defined not only by the spaces they offer but also by the experiences they create and the communities they bring together. Through 'Threads of Connection', we are providing artists with a platform to engage with the public in meaningful ways. The initiative reflects our commitment to empowering artistic talent, enriching Sharjah's cultural landscape, and positioning Al Mamsha as a destination that connects people through shared experiences."
The initiative aligns with Alef Group's vision of creating integrated destinations that extend beyond traditional residential and retail offerings by fostering culture, creativity and social interaction. It also reinforces Sharjah's longstanding reputation as a regional centre for arts and culture by creating new opportunities for artists to showcase their work in an accessible public environment.
