Once completed, The Mukaab would be the world's largest building by volumeAECOM, in joint venture (JV) with Jacobs, has been appointed by New Murabba Development Company to deliver design services for The Mukaab, the signature landmark of Riyadh’s New Murabba development.
Under the agreement, the AECOM–Jacobs JV will oversee the design of The Mukaab and its surrounding podium areas, encompassing infrastructure works, road tunnels, the Mukaab Core, wadi podiums, and the broader public realm.
The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to shape a sustainable, connected, and human-centered urban future.
Lara Poloni - President of AECOM“This appointment reflects the strength of our global design leadership and our ability to deliver iconic, future-ready infrastructure. The Mukaab is a powerful example of what’s possible when visionary ambition meets world-class technical expertise. We’re proud to bring our integrated capabilities to a project that will define Riyadh’s skyline and set new standards for complex infrastructure delivery worldwide,” said Lara Poloni, President, AECOM.
Designed to be among the world’s largest architectural structures, the 247-acre (100-hectare) Mukaab will serve as the focal point of a new mixed-use downtown district, blending residential, hospitality, retail, and cultural spaces, AECOM said in a statement.
Inspired by Najdi architecture, the traditional design style of central Saudi Arabia, and enhanced by advanced digital and immersive technologies, the project seeks to redefine modern urban living and deliver transformative experiences for residents and visitors alike, the statement added.
