Image: Abu Dhabi Media OfficeAbu Dhabi, UAE: Miral has confirmed that the latest expansion of Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi will officially open to visitors on April 4, 2026, marking a new phase in the ongoing evolution of Yas Island as a leading global leisure and entertainment destination.
The expansion builds on the waterpark’s established narrative, The Legend of The Lost Pearl, and introduces a continuation of its “Lost City” theme, enhancing the park’s immersive storytelling experience.
The development introduces a range of new experiences, including eight slides, two jumping platforms and a lounging pool, significantly expanding the park’s attraction portfolio.

According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), the additions will bring the total number of experiences at Yas Waterworld to more than 70, reinforcing its position as one of the region’s most comprehensive waterpark destinations.

The expansion of Yas Waterworld marks an important milestone in our commitment to delivering world-class entertainment experiences on Yas Island,” he said. “With eleven new slides and attractions, we are enhancing the park’s offering with fresh thrills and immersive adventures for guests of all ages.
Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at MiralAmong the key additions is Matamir’s Drop, described as the UAE’s tallest waterslide, featuring a plunge from over 40 metres and a 233-metre slide run designed to deliver high-speed, high-intensity experiences.
Other headline attractions include Sahel Matamir, a freefall tube racer that introduces moments of zero gravity, alongside Matamir Loop, a high-speed body slide engineered for rapid descents.
Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights adds a visual dimension to the experience, combining fast drops with immersive lighting effects, while Matamir Splash introduces a competitive element through a duelling mat racer format that allows guests to race side-by-side.
In addition to adrenaline-focused attractions, the expansion incorporates new spaces designed to enhance relaxation and family-friendly experiences.
Sarab, a spacious leisure pool, offers a more tranquil environment within the park, while Al Afda provides a jumping platform experience for visitors seeking a blend of excitement and accessibility.
The expansion reflects Miral’s broader strategy to continuously enhance Yas Island’s leisure offering through innovation, scale and immersive experiences.
By expanding its attraction base and reinforcing its storytelling concept, Yas Waterworld continues to strengthen its appeal to both regional and international visitors, contributing to Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a global destination for tourism and entertainment.
