Sheikh Khaled Inaugurates $201m Al Samha Housing Project in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, UAE – H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has inaugurated the Al Samha Housing Project, a $201 million (AED738 million) residential development designed to support long-term family wellbeing and sustainable community living across the emirate.

Spanning approximately 50 hectares, the project comprises 242 villas within a fully integrated residential neighbourhood featuring extensive public amenities, green spaces, commercial facilities and community infrastructure.

During the visit, Sheikh Khaled was briefed on the project's design specifications, infrastructure components and community-focused features. The development includes 33 public parks and landscaped areas, a 1,228-square-metre mosque capable of accommodating 644 worshippers, two commercial centres containing 38 retail outlets, and a three-kilometre cycling track.

Each villa has been built on a 1,080-square-metre plot with a total built-up area of 505 square metres, reflecting the emirate's commitment to providing spacious homes tailored to the needs of Emirati families.

Sheikh Khaled also toured the development to review its architectural design, technical specifications and overall masterplan, which has been delivered by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC).

Officials highlighted that the Al Samha Housing Project reflects the leadership's broader vision of creating sustainable, fully serviced residential communities that enhance quality of life while promoting social cohesion and long-term family stability.

The project forms part of the Emirati Neighbourhood Initiative, led by ADHA, which aims to develop modern housing communities that integrate residential, social, recreational and commercial facilities within carefully planned urban environments.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of ADHA, stated that the project reflects a commitment to providing world-class housing options aligned with the leadership’s vision for stable and well-served communities. He further added that it represents part of a broader effort to build a sustainable housing ecosystem that improves quality of life and supports Abu Dhabi’s urban development goals.

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of ADHA, noted that the project marks an important milestone in meeting citizens’ housing needs, with careful planning to ensure it aligns with Emirati family requirements in terms of space, design and community facilities.

The completion of Al Samha Housing Project reinforces Abu Dhabi's ongoing investment in community-centric urban development, where housing is delivered alongside the infrastructure, services and public spaces needed to support future generations and strengthen social wellbeing across the emirate.
