Sharjah, UAE - July 18, 2025 - His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved the development of a major new residential community in the Al Dahiyat suburb of Kalba. The project will feature 190 residential plots, alongside a main park and a mosque, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for citizens in the area.
The new development, valued at approximately USD 51.7 million (AED 190 million), is part of Sharjah’s broader strategy to provide high-quality residential infrastructure for Emiratis. The first phase of the project will include the construction of 54 residential units.
With its growing portfolio of urban initiatives, Kalba City is rapidly evolving into a mixed-use destination. The Al Dahiyat development reinforces this shift by creating a livable and family-friendly community, integrating green and spiritual spaces into its layout.
The Al Dahiyat project is one of several new developments shaping Kalba’s future. Ongoing projects include the Al Hiyar Lake project and the Arab Tiger Reserve, both of which were recently inspected by Sheikh Dr. Sultan.
The Al Hiyar Lake project will consist of four interconnected lakes, complete with barbecue facilities, family seating areas, and children’s play zones. Designed as a recreational hub, it is expected to attract visitors and residents alike.
Additionally, the Arab Tiger Reserve will be located in the Hafya Mountains of Kalba, covering an area of 40 hectares. The reserve will provide a natural sanctuary for dozens of Arabian tigers, featuring designated viewing points for safe and immersive wildlife observation.
The elevated positioning of the reserve will offer panoramic views of Kalba City, the Hafya Mountains, and the Gulf of Oman, further boosting the region’s ecotourism credentials.
These initiatives underscore Sharjah’s commitment to sustainable urban growth while preserving its rich natural environment. By investing in both residential infrastructure and environmental conservation, Kalba is set to become a standout example of balanced development within the UAE.
