Saudi Arabia’s Entertainment Sector Records Strong Growth in Q3 2025

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s entertainment industry continued its rapid expansion in the third quarter of 2025, attracting 12.6 million visitors and recording a significant surge in new licenses, according to the latest report from the General Entertainment Authority (GEA).

The report highlights sustained progress across regulatory, supervisory, and operational indicators, reaffirming the sector’s pivotal role in supporting the Kingdom’s cultural and economic transformation under Vision 2030.

Expanding Activity Across the Kingdom

A total of 468 entertainment events were held across 116 cities, showcasing the growing diversity and geographical reach of entertainment offerings from live performances and cultural shows to family attractions and large-scale festivals.

The number of companies operating in the entertainment market grew to 6,499, reflecting heightened investor interest and the accelerated development of entertainment infrastructure nationwide. The GEA noted that the sector’s expansion continues to generate new economic opportunities and strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional hub for leisure and entertainment.

Surge in Licensing and Regulatory Oversight

The GEA issued 1,839 licenses in Q3 2025, representing a 48.9 percent year-on-year increase. These covered a wide range of categories, including entertainment venues, live events, artistic performances, and talent-related activities.

Regulatory inspections also intensified, with more than 24,200 field visits conducted—an increase of roughly 4 percent compared to the same period last year. The sector achieved a 93 percent compliance rate, underscoring improvements in operational standards, safety protocols, and the overall quality of entertainment experiences across the Kingdom.

Visitor Satisfaction Reaches 94 Percent

Service quality indicators showed strong performance, with the visitor satisfaction index rising to 94 percent, up five percentage points from last year. The positive shift reflects enhanced venue operations, better crowd management, and increased diversity in entertainment options.

As part of its classification and quality assurance initiatives, the GEA evaluated 203 entertainment events, 672 entertainment venues, and 13 theme parks. These assessments ensure that investors deliver safe, high-quality entertainment aligned with international standards and community expectations.
