Atélis at d3 residential tower by Meraas at Dubai Design District. Image: MeraasDUBAI, UAE: Meraas, a member of Dubai Holding Real Estate, has awarded the groundworks contract for Atélis at d3 to International Foundation Group, marking the start of construction activity at the residential development within Dubai Design District (d3).
The contract covers comprehensive site preparation, excavation, soil improvement and dewatering, alongside the design and construction of shoring and piling works. These works will prepare the site for subsequent phases of construction, according to Meraas.
The contract award represents another milestone in Meraas' development pipeline and the continued expansion of d3 as a mixed-use destination combining its established creative and business ecosystem with contemporary residential living.
Designed by international architecture practice Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), Atélis at d3 is planned as a 45-storey residential tower distinguished by a series of petal-inspired balconies influenced by flowers native to the UAE desert.
The development will offer a collection of one- to four-bedroom apartments, alongside exclusive penthouses, with residences positioned to provide panoramic views across Dubai Creek and the city skyline.
The architecture is intended to establish a distinctive residential identity within Dubai Design District while responding to the creative character of the surrounding neighbourhood.
Atélis will incorporate three levels of lifestyle amenities, with facilities spanning wellness, work and communal spaces.
"Residents will enjoy three levels of premium lifestyle amenities, including wellness facilities, co-working spaces and thoughtfully curated communal areas that reflect the creative character of d3," said a company spokesman.
The combination of residential, wellness and co-working facilities reflects the development's positioning within a district already established around design, fashion, art and creative industries.
The start of groundworks marks the next stage in Meraas' plans to introduce premium waterfront living to Dubai Design District.
According to the developer, the project supports the continued transformation of d3 into a destination where design, creativity, entrepreneurship and contemporary residential living converge.
Atélis builds on the district's existing position as a regional creative ecosystem while adding a new residential component overlooking Dubai Creek and the wider city.
