Traditional acoustic plaster systems often present challenges relating to specialist labour requirements, extensive scaffolding, imported materials and long installation timelines.

MELO® was developed to address these constraints through a 40mm acoustic build-up comprising a high-performance mineral wool acoustic board finished with a proprietary lime-based acoustic spray coating.

While the acoustic formulation and engineering originate from Switzerland, the system incorporates locally manufactured components, helping reduce lead times, improve project flexibility and support a more sustainable supply chain.

According to Europhon Acoustics®, the system eliminates the need for highly specialised installation teams and extensive scaffolding, even when applied to complex architectural forms such as vaults and domes.

From a technical perspective, MELO® delivers Class A sound absorption with NRC ratings of up to 0.95, alongside A2 fire safety certification. The lightweight system can be applied across flat, curved and vaulted surfaces while maintaining a seamless monolithic finish suited to contemporary architectural design.

The company also highlights the system's UV resistance, anti-static properties and ease of maintenance, with repairs achievable through sanding and reapplication of the spray finish without specialist intervention.
