Bahrain Moves To Deliver 7,000 Housing Services Nationwide

Manama, Bahrain: The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the commencement of implementation procedures to deliver 7,000 housing services to citizens across the country, marking a further step in accelerating the national housing programme and expanding access to affordable, quality homes.

The initiative aligns with the directives of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to expedite the delivery of 50,000 new housing units, and follows the guidance of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The announcement was made in conjunction with Bahrain’s National Days celebrations, marking the 26th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne, and forms part of a broader series of national development initiatives highlighted during the commemorative period.

Financing And Ownership Options Expanded

Announcing the programme, Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, said the delivery of 7,000 housing services will be supported by a comprehensive package of financing and housing solutions designed to offer citizens greater choice and flexibility.

The planned services include the allocation of housing finance, as well as the handover of multiple ownership-service projects within designated housing cities. These measures aim to address varying family needs while supporting homeownership through accessible financing mechanisms.

Implementation Underway Nationwide

Al Rumaihi confirmed that the ministry has already begun coordinating with financing institutions and participating banks to facilitate the disbursement of funds to eligible beneficiaries. In parallel, technical and engineering teams are identifying completed housing projects and those at advanced stages of construction in preparation for handover under the ownership services framework.

“The ministry is working to ensure faster delivery of suitable housing through prompt services tailored to Bahraini families, and will continue to mobilise all efforts in the coming phase to accelerate delivery and achieve the set goals,” she stated.

Supporting National Housing Targets

The minister also praised Bahrain’s leadership for its continued support of the social housing sector, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to meeting housing demand in line with the objectives outlined in the Government Plan 2023–2026.

The latest announcement underscores Bahrain’s broader strategy to strengthen social infrastructure, improve quality of life for citizens, and maintain momentum in the delivery of housing services as part of its long-term national development agenda.
