Abu Dhabi, UAE: Aldar has announced the launch of Baccarat Residences Saadiyat, introducing what it describes as a legacy landmark within Saadiyat Cultural District and a new benchmark for ultra-prime residential living in the UAE.

The development brings together the 262-year heritage of the legendary Maison Baccarat with the cultural significance of Saadiyat Island, positioning the project as one of the most exclusive residential addresses to launch in Abu Dhabi. The scheme also marks the UAE residential debut of internationally acclaimed Sou Fujimoto Architects, whose design draws inspiration from the natural rhythm of Saadiyat Island’s shoreline.

A Landmark Address in Saadiyat Cultural District

Baccarat Residences Saadiyat comprises 77 exclusive homes, including two- and three-bedroom residences, expansive four-bedroom sky villas, and two signature penthouses. Each residence is characterised by immersive design storytelling, craftsmanship, and a refined interpretation of Baccarat’s philosophy of art de vivre. The enduring presence of Baccarat crystal is subtly integrated into central living spaces, reinforcing the project’s identity.

Framed by panoramic views of the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Arabian Sea, the residences occupy a prominent position at the intersection of culture, coastline, and contemporary luxury.

As the final development to launch within Saadiyat Grove district, the project offers proximity to pristine beaches, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, and leading educational institutions including Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, NYU Abu Dhabi, and Berklee Abu Dhabi. The soon-to-open Saadiyat Grove will add 60,000 square metres of luxury retail and dining immediately adjacent to the residences.

Architecture Inspired by Nature

The design by Sou Fujimoto Architects reflects a fluid dialogue between nature and architecture. Inspired by the ebb and flow of the island’s shoreline, the sculptural form features undulating curves across two distinct buildings that mirror the surrounding landscape and create a seamless transition between built form and horizon.

Jonathan Emery, Chief Executive Officer of Aldar Development, said: “Abu Dhabi’s place as a leading global destination for luxury lifestyle continues to advance at pace. Baccarat Residences Saadiyat represents the pinnacle of luxury living within Saadiyat Cultural District, bringing together world-class architecture, global brand heritage and an unrivalled cultural setting. The residences offer discerning buyers not just a home, but a place in one of the most incredible destinations to be developed anywhere in the world.”

Barry Sternlicht, Founder of Baccarat Hotels & Residences and Chairman of Starwood Hotels, commented:

Baccarat is a brand we treat with immense care. We choose locations very selectively, and Saadiyat Island stands out as a place where the level of ambition, cultural investment, and long-term vision align on a global scale. This project reflects our belief that the most meaningful luxury is created with intention in settings that can support it.

Raul Leal, CEO of Starwood Hotels, added:

Baccarat Residences are designed for those who seek more than a home — they are designed for a life immersed in culture, beauty, and luxury. This location in Saadiyat represents the epitome of refined luxury, where heritage, art, and contemporary living intersect. It is a natural setting for Baccarat Residences, allowing us to translate centuries-old craftsmanship and legacy into an enduring residential expression that feels both timeless and deeply connected to its surroundings.
