Image: WAMABU DHABI, UAE: The Abu Dhabi Registration Authority (ADRA) intensified field inspections across the emirate's building materials sector in July 2026, visiting 414 establishments as part of efforts to monitor prices, strengthen market stability and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
ADRA, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development’s (ADDED) arm responsible for developing and regulating the business sector, said the inspections focused on establishments involved in the manufacturing and sale of essential building materials.
The campaign forms part of ADRA’s wider efforts to ensure the availability of goods and services at fair prices and high quality while protecting consumer rights. The authority regularly carries out inspection campaigns across establishments and markets in the emirate.
During the July inspections, ADRA monitored building material prices and assessed whether businesses were meeting regulatory requirements.
The authority issued four warnings to establishments that increased prices without justification, while 15 violations were recorded for price increases and failure to provide sales and purchase invoices.
Overall compliance with applicable laws and regulations reached 95.4%, with ADRA’s Business Compliance Sector inspection teams confirming that 395 establishments met all required requirements.
The figures indicate a high level of compliance across a sector that plays an important role in Abu Dhabi's construction and real estate markets.
Mohamed Munif Al Mansoori, Director-General of ADRA, said, “We are committed to providing a business environment supported by advanced regulatory frameworks that provide the right balance between business growth and the protection of consumer and trademark rights. This further strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as one of the world’s most dynamic and competitive hubs for business and investment.
The stability of building materials markets, which have an impact on various sectors including the real estate sector and other vital industries, contributes to creating an environment that supports advancing economic growth and diversification."
Al Mansoori added that the high compliance rate among economic establishments reflects the continued development of Abu Dhabi’s business ecosystem.
ADRA's inspections come as the authority continues to monitor commercial activity and regulatory compliance across Abu Dhabi, with the latest campaign placing particular emphasis on the building materials market and its role in supporting the emirate's wider economic and real estate sectors.
