Abu Dhabi approved a $419 million housing benefits package benefiting 1,074 Emirati citizens ahead of Eid Al Adha 2026. Image: Abu Dhabi Media OfficeABU DHABI, UAE - His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a housing benefits package worth approximately $419.3 million (AED1.54 billion), benefiting 1,074 Emirati citizens across the emirate.
The announcement was made following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the leadership’s continued focus on family wellbeing, social stability, and long-term housing support for Emirati citizens.
The approved package includes housing loans valued at approximately $383.9 million (AED1.41 billion), benefiting 929 citizens, alongside exemptions from housing loan repayments worth around $33.5 million (AED123 million). The exemptions will benefit 145 senior citizens, limited-income retirees, and families of deceased citizens in Abu Dhabi.
The disbursement of the second housing package of 2026 comes ahead of Eid Al Adha 2026 and reflects the emirate’s continued commitment to delivering sustainable and inclusive housing solutions designed to support long-term community stability and quality of life.
“We extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, for their continued directives that place citizens’ needs at the forefront of all priorities to achieve social stability,” said His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA).
“The leadership remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a dignified life and suitable housing for local families, fostering their wellbeing and security while contributing to a cohesive society that actively supports the nation’s development journey,” he added.
The latest package forms part of Abu Dhabi’s wider strategy to strengthen family wellbeing and support national development through long-term residential planning and accessible housing initiatives.
For his part, His Excellency Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, said: “The new housing benefits package underscores our leadership’s dedication to family wellbeing and its continued commitment to supporting Emirati citizens and families while strengthening social stability. This aligns with the nation’s comprehensive development objectives and reinforces the vital role of suitable housing in building a cohesive and prosperous society.”
Al Muhairi further reaffirmed ADHA’s commitment to continuously enhancing its programs and services to ensure citizens across Abu Dhabi can access suitable housing with greater ease and convenience, while advancing the housing sector in line with the leadership’s long-term vision.
With the approval of the latest package, the total value of housing benefits delivered to citizens in Abu Dhabi during 2026 has now reached approximately $1.57 billion (AED5.76 billion).
Since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, the total housing benefits delivered to citizens across the emirate have exceeded approximately $49.5 billion (AED182 billion), benefiting more than 133,000 citizens.
The latest announcement further highlights Abu Dhabi’s continued investment in social infrastructure and long-term residential development as part of the emirate’s broader economic and community-focused growth agenda.
