Image: Abu Dhabi Media OfficeAbu Dhabi, UAE: His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has approved a comprehensive housing benefits package valued at $1.15 billion (AED4.21 billion), supporting 2,652 Emirati citizens across the emirate.
The initiative, issued under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, reflects the leadership’s continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life, social stability and long-term wellbeing of Emirati families.
The newly approved package encompasses a wide range of housing support mechanisms designed to meet diverse needs across the community.
Housing loans represent the largest component, totalling $572 million (AED2.1 billion) and benefiting 1,415 citizens. This is complemented by ready-built housing grants valued at $495 million (AED1.82 billion), supporting 914 beneficiaries.
In addition, residential land grants amounting to $39 million (AED144 million) will be allocated to 185 citizens, further expanding access to home ownership opportunities. The package also includes exemptions from housing loan repayments worth $38.7 million (AED142 million), benefiting 138 senior citizens, retirees with limited income, and heirs of deceased citizens.
The disbursement of Abu Dhabi’s first housing package of 2026 comes ahead of Eid Al Fitr, underscoring the leadership’s focus on delivering timely support that strengthens family stability and community wellbeing.

The latest allocation builds on a strong track record of housing support across the emirate. Since its establishment, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority has delivered housing benefits to more than 132,000 citizens, with total disbursements exceeding $49.3 billion (AED181 billion).

Al Muhairi further highlighted the authority’s ongoing efforts to enhance and expand its programmes, ensuring citizens have streamlined access to housing solutions aligned with the UAE’s long-term development vision.
The housing package reinforces Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy to build sustainable, inclusive communities supported by robust infrastructure and forward-looking urban planning. By addressing housing needs across multiple segments, the initiative plays a key role in supporting population growth, economic resilience and social cohesion.
